Collect

Almighty Father, who in your great mercy gladdened the disciples with the sight of the risen Lord: give us such knowledge of his presence with us, that we may be strengthened and sustained by his risen life and serve you continually in righteousness and truth; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

For Your Prayers

For those who are suffering from the Covid-19 virus, whether at home, in hospital or in nursing and care homes

For those who have died recently, and for the bereaved, especially loved ones who were separated and who didn’t have the chance to say ‘goodbye’

For all who are treating and caring for patients with the virus, especially hospital staff at risk

For the work of doctors, nurses, hospital ancillary staff; GP surgery staff and pharmicists; for paramedics, and for all who must be in close contact with others

For those in the Abbey Community who work for the NHS

For staff at  nursing and care homes in Wymondham

For all who are anxious or lonely at this time, and missing the warmth and support of human contact

For those who are making decisions for the country, and for experts advising them

For those who have lost their jobs, or for whom future employment is uncertain, or who have watched their businesses fail

For young people struggling with the need to postpone exams, courses or university entrance

For those manufacturing and distributing Personal Protective Equipment for health-care workers

For countries across the world where health-care standards are not as developed as ours, where the virus is beginning to take effect

Give thanks for all who maintain our essential services in so many ways, and pray for their safety
