Anarchy at the Abbey – History Comes Alive at Wymondham Abbey

It is MCXXXVIII – Work on building the abbey church is almost finished…
… but the country is suffering civil war and anarchy ! Are you for KING Stephen or QUEEN Matilda? (or frankly couldn’t give a groat as long as you have pottage on your platter).

Bring the family to this special open evening for all ages & be transported back to 1138 presented by a company of jovial re-enactors, craftspeople, minstrel musicians and more.

Meet herbalists, archers, falconers, soldiers and sundry curious characters from local lords & love-lorn ladies to swarthy serfs and villainous villeins.

Bring your own picnic feast or purchase victuals on site. Hot and cold drinks, Plantagenet Pizzas, Ales on Tap.

Wednesday 19th June 5pm – 8pm Entry £5, Children Free.
