Mrs Sybil Martin I moved to Wymondham when I retired from teaching in 2009. I had been Deputy Head and Inclusion Co-ordinator of a large junior school in East London. I especially enjoyed teaching maths to children who were convinced they could never understand any of it. I have a daughter who lives in Norwich; no grandchildren - yet - and a close knit family who are spread from Southampton to the Isle of Arran, but that doesn’t stop us enjoying a “gathering” every year or two. I am Social Policy Contact for Mothers; Union in our Diocese. When I’m not doing any of the above I am singing in a local choir, learning how to make a garden grow, knitting, sewing, reading and enjoying the WI.

Mr Bernard Douglass After gaining a degree at City University I spent my working life in the electricity supply industry, (the Eastern Electricity Board) mainly involved in the planning and installation of new and augmented supply networks and also in cable fault finding. My wife and I lived in St Albans and attended our parish church, St. Stephens and its daughter church, St. Julians. We moved to Wymondham in 2009 to be near our son and his family. We soon became involved in the life of the Abbey. |
